Bitcoin in the Wild is dedicated to utilising Bitcoin to support wildlife, education, and conservation projects. We work directly without involving middlemen.
At Bitcoin in the Wild, we are engaged in various local programmes dedicated to wildlife conservation, community development, and environmental protection. Powered by Bitcoin, we support these projects while aiming to increase their donations and raise awareness.
We believe education and community empowerment are essential for long-term conservation. Through environmental education and wildlife awareness initiatives, we help inspire young people and support local communities to become active stewards of nature, sustainable development, and wildlife protection.
Wildlife Education
Protecting wildlife is essential for maintaining nature's balance and the health of our planet. We support initiatives that safeguard endangered species, restore habitats, and promote coexistence between humans and animals.
Wildlife Conservation
Our fund aims at protecting wildlife in South Africa. We cannot protect elephants and rhinos without the support of rangers. Poaching and Wildlife Trade is in the top 3 crimes globally, alongside human trafficking and drugs.

Together with Luthando from Bitcoin Ekasi, we visited the Black Mambas to learn about their work and share our experience with Bitcoin. Since the Mambas currently rely on traditional financial partners, they are not yet allowed to accept Bitcoin directly. That is why we accept Bitcoin donations on their behalf. All contributions are kept in a self-custody wallet until the funds are needed for their projects.

As the Bitcoin technology is new and not always well understood, education and explanation is needed. We worked together with Bitcoin Ekasi to get the wildlife organisations HERD Elephants, Transfrontier Africa, The Black Mambas, and The BushBabies to the Adopting Bitcoin Conference in Cape Town, South Africa. We set up a GeyserFund fundraiser and raised 1,850,295 SATS to cover the travel expenses for 3 team members of the Black Mambas rangers unit to attend. Their participation enabled them to gain insights into adopting Bitcoin for enhanced financial and transactional security within their local communities.
At Bitcoin in the Wild, we support programmes and projects across South Africa focused on wildlife conservation, community development, and environmental protection. Our work is rooted in collaboration with trusted local partners to create lasting, real-world impact.
Bitcoin in the Wild is connected to a growing network of organisations and initiatives that share our passion for wildlife conservation and education.
